Community Service

Well it is officially three weeks until we leave!! I can't believe how quickly the time went by.

The delegates, their families and I had the chance to give back to the Dedham community today. We have been meeting at the Town Office and decided to say Thanks by doing our community service work at the Town Office.
There is a Veteran's garden next to the building and it was in need of some TLC. The garden was overgrown with brush, weeds and a year's worth of oak leaves. We started by weed whacking some of the grassy area in front and along the back. Next it was all about the leaves and weeds! The leaves had worked their way into the rocks and it was nearly impossible to rake, so it was a job for hands. Walking carefully so not to disturb the moss and plants clinging to the rocks, the delegates and their family members picked away, little by little, trying to get all of the leaves

Everyone worked so hard to get the garden looking great.
Parents brought flowers, bulbs and red cedar mulch. The delegates worked hard to remove rogue trees and stumps and everyone weeded and weeded and weeded.

Once everything was dumped and thrown away, it was time to take a look at the finished work. The garden is opened up, the bushes trimmed and the grass whacked (too little space to mow).

Even with the rain sprinkles and overcast sky, I believe it was a nice time!!

I hope the employees at the Town Office are happy with the results as well.
